Plain yogurt is a great versatile ingredient to have in your fridge. As well as being a great breakfast item, you can use it in cooking, baking or as a part of your beauty regime.
If you’re a regular ready here at Pretty Natural then you’ll know that we use yogurt in plenty of our recipes- from face and body treatments, to healthy smoothies and snacks.
Here are different ways you can use plain yogurt day-to-day:
- In cooking:
Add to curry as a healthy version of cream to cool down the spices. Alternatively, mix with garlic and lemon or herbs for a low-fat marinade for chicken. - In baking:
You can add plain yogurt to pancake batter to create healthy pancakes or use it as an alternative to butter in cupcake recipes. We tried and tested this method in our banana and berry cupcakes. Plain yogurt can also be used as an ingredient in chocolate cake as it keeps the sponge moist for longer. - In your beauty regime:
If you have dry skin then yogurt is the perfect natural ingredient to work into your beauty regime. Just add it with honey and avocado to make our natural moisturising face mask. Check out our YouTube channel for this tutorial.
